Guys, I think I’ve found my perfect stash busting sock pattern: Pacific Knit Co’s All Together Now Socks. As part of the greater decluttering execise, I’ve been working on paring down the amount of yarn that I have. With the ultimate goal being to either part with one of my IKEA RASKOG carts or move my entire yarn collection onto the RASKOG cart that’s currently housing the part of my yarn stash that won’t fit in the KALLAX shelving unit.
The first pair that I cast on was using Moonglow Yarn Co’s Mountain Meadows Sock Kit. It had been sitting in my stash for a while and I was set on doing something with it.
Amazingly enough, I still had well over half of the yarn left after finishing my first pair. Mind you, I had only done one pattern repeat on the leg of the sock and 5-ish rounds of 1×1 ribbing for the cuff.
For the 2nd pair, I changed it up a little bit and did 10 rounds of 2×2 ribbing for the cuff. I still stuck with 1 full pattern repeat. Even after that, I was left with more than enough coloured yarn for a few more pairs of sock using the same “configurations” as pair #2.
At the same time, I also cast on another pair of the All Together Now socks, but using 2 accent colours, which resulted in a very pretty cherry blossom inspired colour scheme. Because this pair only used 2 accent colours, I did 5 repeats to get the leg of the sock to about the same length as the Mountain Meadow pairs.
One very important thing to note is that I didn’t follow Pacific Knit Co’s pattern exactly. I followed the colour charts, but used a combination of Whirlsies’ Vanilla Sock Pattern and Three Cats Yarn’s Sock Pattern as the “base”.
